I used to spend a lot of time perusing my dad's monthly copies of Practical Mechanics edited by F. J. Camm and published by George Newnes Limited. Sadly only a few copies have survived with me. However I reproduce extracts from some of them here for an insight into technical hobbies before the internet was ever thought of.
How many modern magazines show you how to build your own aeroplane for £25 plus the cost of an engine, or build a car for £20!

Please treat these instructions as historical data only, do not attempt to construct the Flea as it would be dangerous. Click here to go to the pousquetaires flying group forum for up to date information.
